Most students and parents know that we really push Accelerated Reader. Have you ever wondered how we set the individual student goal for Accelerated Reader? This year, we are ratcheting up the AR goal by asking that students maintain an 85% correct score on average (for the semester) in addition to meeting their point goal for each six weeks...

Food City is changing the way the Apple for the Students program works this year. You simply ask the cashier to link your Value Card to Avoca Elementary. From then on, every time you make a purchase and present your Value Card, the receipt total will be tallied for the school automatically...
